Biography

Dr. Volkan S. Ediger holds a position of Professor of Energy Systems Engineering at Kadir Has University (KHAS), Istanbul. He has completed his Ph.D. in Geoscience from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, USA. Previously he was appointed as Professor at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Izmir, Energy Advisor to the President at Presidency of the Republic of Turkey (CB), Ankara, Technical Project Adviser at Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) Research Center, Ankara, and Part-time Instructor at Middle East Technical University, Geological Engineering Department, Ankara. He is also serving as editor and referee for number of scientific journals. He is member of several Scientific Societies, Conference Committees and Commissions. Dr. Volkan received honors includes Turkish Association of Petroleum Geologists Eighth Petroleum Congress of Turkey, Special Contribution Award (1990), Geological Aspects of Reservoir Characteristics Conference, Baku, Azerbaijan, Conference Special Award, Middle East Technical University, Best Thesis Supervisor Award, Marquis Who’s Who in the World-26th Edition, POWER-GEN Europe, Top 10 Most Influential Voices in the Power Generation Today, and elected member of Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society. He successfully supervised 11 students thesis. He also participated in 6 R&D projects as Associated Partner, Project Manager and Advisor. He has published 15 book and book chapters, 60 research articles in journals as well as 25 conferences proceeding, and 22 Tpao Company Reports contributed as author/co-author. He also presented several invited talks.
