Biography

Muhammad Mezbah-ul-Islam is a dynamic, innovative, committed person who is known home and abroad in the area of LIS. He has completed his SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) sponsored Ph.D. program at the Department of Library and Information Science, North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, India. He did his Graduation and Masters in LIS from the University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Mezbah started his career as a librarian at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Pahartali, Chittagong, Bangladesh. He had joined the Department of LIS, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh as a lecturer and in 2003, joined in the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Mezbah has got a number of international and national awards/scholarships and produced more than 51 publications for national and international refereed journals, papers, proceedings and as books & book chapters. He is the member of editorial boards of the international and national journals. Dr. Mezbah has more than 18 years of professional and teaching experience in universities, academic and research institutions. He engaged in teaching at all levels (Graduate, Master, M. Phil. and Ph. D.) using relevant teaching methods and carrying out independent research. He has developed numerous projects for different local and foreign organizations. He has attended many conferences, workshops, seminars etc. as a resource person and/or participant and has secured many research and travel grants from local and foreign agencies. He has been serving the community as an active member of academic committees.
