Biography

Vasantha M. Nayagam is a Research Officer with Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore where she is also involved in many of the teaching activities at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the School of Applied Science. Her main areas of research here involves pharmaceutical formulations where she either develops or improves pharmaceutical dosage forms according to requests submitted. She also played a key role in the development of a paper based ELISA for Kidney Injury Markers at Temasek Polytechnic. In another previous employment at a local Drug Discovery company, S*BIO, she was involved in many aspects of drug development ranging from upstream activities such as target identification and validation, to hit to lead in-vitro assays, besides more downstream employment involving evaluation of functional biomarkers in Clinical Trials Phase I. In the latter part of this work, she focused mainly on the development and validation of ELISA platforms for post-translational modifications in histones.She is the co-author of 2 patents and 2 papers and has been a Biologist for nearly 30 years.
