Biography

Dr. Hashim Ali El Atta working as Professor at Department of Plant Production, College of Food and Agricultural Sciences, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. He completed his PhD in Forest Pathology with thesis title “Decay of extraction wounds in conifers caused by Stereum sanguinolentum” from Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom in 1985 and Diploma in Seed Pathology from The Royal Veterinary and Agriculture University of Copenhagen, Institute of Seed Pathology, Denmark in 1989. His prior working experience includes Teaching Assistant, Assistant Professor, Secretary of Department of Forestry Board, Acting Head at Department of Forestry, Member of the Faculty of Agriculture Board, Head Department of Forestry, Chairman, Committee for University Lands (Soba), Member of the Senate, First Dean, Faculty of Forestry and Director at Institute of Environmental Studies, University of Khartoum. He is a member of many technical/ syllabi/ national/ scientific research and professional committees. He established Seed Pathology laboratory, Forest Entomology laboratory and small laboratory for Wood Technology. He also supervised 9 graduates, 13 post graduate students and 1 MSc student is in his supervision. He published 49 articles in national and international journals and 9 in conferences and workshops.
