Biography

Dr. Imam Abdel-Ghany Ahmed Mekkawy is currently working as Professor of Vertebrate and Embryology at Faculty of Science, Taif University, Saudi Arabia, and Professor of Fish Biology at Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science, Assiut University, Assiut, Egypt. He has completed his Ph.D. in Fish Taxonomy from same University. Previously he was appointed as Visitor Professor and Lecturer at Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science, Sanaa, Yemen Republic. His area of research interest focuses on Fish Taxonomy, Numerical Taxonomy, Fish Biology, Osteology, Fish Embryology, Fish Stock Assessment, Population dynamics, Ecology: Lake Impoundment, Pollution, Biometry, Electrophoresis, Impacts of UV-radiation and Biodiversity. He is also serving as reviewer and editor for number of journals. He has published 94 research articles in journals 3 books and 2 book chapters. He has supervised 25 PhD and MSc thesis. He is member of Egyptian-German Society of Zoology, Cairo University, Society of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Social Affairs, Assiut, Egypt, Secretary-general of the Administrative Council of Syndicate of Scientific Professions, Assiut, Egypt, Awarded the Faculty-of-Science Prize of Academic research in 1992/1993, 1998/1999 and 2005/2006.
