Biography

Dr. Sobhy Abdel-Shafy is Professor of Parasitology at Department of Parasitology, National Research Center, Egypt. He is mainly specialist in ticks and tick borne diseases. He had PhD in 2000 from Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University under title “Microbiological and control studies on ticks infesting farm animals and poultry”. He had M.Sc. in 1995 and B.Sc in 1988. His research experience includes Assistance Researcher, Researcher and Associate Professor at different universities. He actively participated in organizing 3 conferences (2006, 2010 and2013) organized by Veterinary Research Division. He has attended 31st World Veterinary Congress in Prague, Czech Republic (2013). He serves as reviewer in many international journals. He has participated in many projects starting from 1997 until now. He is involved in two scientific missions; one to Unite of ricketsae, Facultyof Medicine, Mediterranean University, Marseille, France for six months (2009) and another to Unite of emergent viruses, Faculty of Medicine, Mediterranean University, Marseille, France for two months (2011). He is supervising 2 PhD scholars. He published more than 35 articles in journals (25 indexed in SCOPUS).
